You can also make an all-purpose spray for pest by adding 2 tablespoons liquid peppermint castile soap to 1 gallon water, spray the mixture on countertops and baseboards or any place that pest might go. Keep ants away by sprinkling coffee grounds around the windows and doors or anywhere you want. Also, an alternative way to keep ants away is mixing 1 cup borax with 1 cup sugar. Pour the mix into small jars and poke it inside the holes of the lid, they will be lured by the sweet smell of the mixture.
Fight fruit flies with apple cider vinegar. Fill glass with 2 inches vinegar, cover top with plastic wrap, and poke holes, they will be attracted by the sweet smell that it produce. For spiders, combine equal parts of vinegar and water in spray bottle. Though it is safe for humans, vinegars effectively repels spiders, sprinkle the mixture into coat cracks, holes, opening or any other small entrances that they may pass through. For cockroaches, repel them by pouring ½ cup beer on the saucer and place them on floor where cockroaches might enter. For silverfish and other wingless insects, sprinkle boric acid to moist areas including kitchen and bathroom.
